“Secret” Wineries in Connecticut
One of my favorite parts of my talks on Connecticut’s wineries is when I tell the audience about several wineries that are a secret… shhh!
Why do I call them secret? Well, they are not a member of the CT Wine Trail nor are they part of the Passport to Connecticut Farm Wineries program either.
So, the next question I get is… “How do I find them?”
It is such a good question. My answer is this: Word of Mouth or the almighty Google.
I learned about several of the “secret” wineries via friends I worked with (when I used to work in an office), friends in the industry, and, from awesome attendees of my talks!
At this current moment in time, January 2023, here are a few of my “secret” wineries:
Rose Vineyards & Winery, North Branford
Worthington Vineyard & Winery, Somers
Crystal Ridge Winery, Glastonbury
Kingdom of the Hawk Vineyard, North Stonington (coming soon)
Stappa Vineyard, Orange
Brignole Vineyards, East Granby
There are also two micro wineries in North Haven, CT, but I’m going to do a separate blog post on them.
And trust me; I am almost 100% positive that more wineries will be popping up in the years to come. Maybe you know of some that are in the works? If so, I’d definitely like to know about them!
Have you visited any of the wineries on my list above (minus the one that hasn’t opened just yet)? Share with me in the comments below.
