Program recommendation - CT Wineries

I definitely recommend Michelle's CT Wine Trail talk! We had a great crowd and they LOVED it! Michelle is a total delight and her enthusiasm for the program was perfect! She does a great job of highlighting the very distinct vibes from all the different wineries that you can visit and peppering the presentation with fun anecdotes from her travels. Michelle is super easy to work with and willing to stay later to chat with patrons and answer any questions!

Our patrons really enjoyed Michelle and her presentation. With so many wineries to cover, Michelle approached it in a way that gave everyone a taste of each area of the state without being overwhelming. I'm sure a few trips were being planned by attendees before they left.

Dear Michelle:
On behalf of Second Century Fund’s members and all the attendees at last night’s presentation on Connecticut wineries, thank you. It was obvious that you have a passion for your subject. Your presentation was lively, engaging, and informative and we’re certain that it has inspired many to get out on the trail this year.
We also thank you for helping Second Century Fund to achieve its goal of raising public awareness of Welles-Turner Library, and what it can offer our community, and of our role in supporting this great institution.

If you are looking for a fun, informative and interesting program about local activities/attractions/things to do, I recommend Michelle Griffis, "The Nutmeg Nose" for her Connecticut Wineries talk.
Michelle is friendly, happy and full of information with her tips and stories about the wineries. She did a great job highlighting some wineries near our library plus featuring some in areas of the state people might not be familiar with. The audience enjoyed it and were engaged - asking questions and taking notes on all the wineries highlighted. Michelle was so organized too. She is very quick to respond to emails, share her publicity and send the paperwork we require from our programmers. We hope to have her back again!

The Danbury Library hosted Michelle Griffis, The Nutmeg Nose, for a wonderful presentation on Connecticut wineries. Michelle gave a fun, engaging talk about the various wineries in CT, highlighting their specialties and uniqueness. She also gave us tips on what to do and look for when you are visiting a winery, including attire and safety. Michelle was lovely to work with and I highly recommend her!

Hi all,
We (finally!) hosted the lovely Michelle Griffis, aka "The Nutmeg Nose" for her CT Wineries talk last evening. This program had originally been scheduled for May, 2020.
Michelle was energetic, engaging and entertaining and was thrilled to share her vast knowledge of Connecticut's wineries with a live audience once again. She is interested in new bookings and is very accommodating and flexible on pricing.
Michelle can be reached at shelg703@gmail.com.
I recommend you contact her- if you do, please tell her I sent you!
Thanx,

Looking for a fun, informative, crowd-pleasing program? I highly recommend CT Wineries with Michelle Griffis. She presented her program for a large group of our library patrons, online through Zoom, in October 2021. She shared her wealth of knowledge about vineyards in CT (we have over 40!) and gave tips about where and when to go, how to prepare for your visit, what questions to ask during a tasting, even what to wear on a tour (skip the high heels!) Michelle is personable and knowledgeable, she answered everyone's questions, she's not at all a "wine snob", and her enthusiasm for CT wineries can't be beat!

I fully recommend the awesome presentation we (twice!) had at the Greenwich Library by Michelle Griffis, "Connecticut Wineries with the Nutmeg Nose." It's always very popular and well attended, in-person or virtual. As a former writer for ctwine.com, Michelle was our wine guide through Connecticut. She is the most knowledgeable person to talk about these local businesses and promote educational activities through Connecticut's wine country. Her stories are engaging, and the photos really help to give attendees a sense of what our great state has to offer. She's fun, great to work with and always has an excellent book recommendation!! I constantly receive positive feedback from our community, and it generates great excitement leading up to the event. Reach out to Michelle for your next program and tell her Rick sent you.

“I would like to second Lindsay’s recommendation of having Michelle Griffis speak about the CT Wine Trail. We just had Michelle in East Granby on Monday evening and she gave a fabulous presentation. Her manner is welcoming and her presentation allows for a lot of discussion that includes the audiences’ own experiences on the wine trail. I have already received feedback from patrons about how much they enjoyed it!
I found her presentation to be an excellent value for an adult program!”

“I wanted to give a quick recommendation for a talk that we had recently at the Rocky Hill Library on the CT Wine Trail by Michelle Griffis. Michelle is a former writer for ctwine.com and has visited many of the wineries here in CT. She gave a very nice, simple talk on the wine trail with a PowerPoint that included pictures from her travels. She is very knowledgeable, and easy to work with. She even brought some cheese and crackers to share. Our library was her first presentation, but I think she had a lot of fun interacting with our audience and said she would love to speak at other libraries. If you are interested in contacting her, you can reach her at shelg703@gmail.com. Tell her Lindsay sent you!”

Wine Talks Throughout Connecticut*
These are just a sampling of my talks since 2019. I have presented at many libraries throughout the state of Connecticut. A full list of talks will be updated on this site soon.
*The following talks were given in 2019 in person and also via Zoom in 2020. Please note: Several of the talks were titled before I re-branded to The Nutmeg Nose. The libraries designed their flyers and write ups using information I provided. I no longer write for the CT Wine Trail and many of the wineries I talk about are not on the CT Wine Trail, but are wineries located in Connecticut. I explain the difference as part of my program. I am also not certified in wine or a wine expert, but an enthusiast of wine. Please see my full write up on the current program under The Nutmeg Nose section on my home page which you can get to by clicking ShelGee Communications at the top of this page and scrolling down that page to locate. Thank you.
