Meet the Women Winemakers of New England
In 2014, over a flight of beer after Harvest, Christina Musto-Quick of Musto Wine Grape Company LLC and Amanda Brackett, formerly of Southern Connecticut Wine Company, now at Barrel House, created the Women Winemakers of New England. At the time, Musto-Quick, Brackett, along with Maureen Macdonald, then of Musto Wine Grape, now at Hawk Ridge Winery and Kristen Parsons of Chamard Vineyard, were the only professional women wine makers in the state of Connecticut.
The women would meet to discuss trends in wine, do wine tastings and support each other in the industry. Over time their group grew to include many women winemakers in Connecticut and throughout New England. The group consists of 24 women winemakers.
